It incapacitated some people while others where unaffected. Think of the voice of the fog, that psychic attack used by the whale. I rationalize the inconsistencies by taking into account a degree of randomness to the power's effect, caused by unknowned variables from victim to victim. Some of these are actual plot points in later arcs, and the rest I think are just smoke screen to keep you guessing what's real or not. But I don't think it's an oversight, because there are so many discrepancies (in the side stories as well) it's like the author did it on purpose. I feel the same way, there are some inconsistencies with this power. If anyone who is caught up with the Light Novels knows more a simple 'Yes it was planned' will suffice. I am not necessarily looking for any direct answer. I might be thinking too hard about this, or I may not. So I am trying to grasp how they could know this? So how were they able to calculate that their platoon lost 14 individuals? They shouldn't know the number of dead soldiers because they shouldn't remember having the extra 14 soldiers.Īnd even if they somehow could, like lets say that a platoon always HAS to have X number of individuals regardless of the situation, we know from the Rem situation that reality and history are rewritten to accommodate the loss of the individual in question. Taking into account what we know about the properties of the Mist and the Whales power, how exactly were they able to recount the number of people that were lost? We know that people completely forget about anyone existing (As was shown with Otto when he was like 'There was nobody in our party who was traveling there'). Now heres my issue, in the episodes where Crusch and her army decide to heed Subaru's warning and attack the Whale, the specific part where the Whale for the first time releases its mist and starts to kill individual random soldiers Crusch asks what the losses are and people report that they've lost a number of people (14 I think was the number referenced). History was essentially rewritten to show that Rem never existed in any scope, not just in peoples memories. If you recall when Subaru tried to show Ram that Rem is indeed real, Rem's belongings completely vanished from her room. This goes beyond simple removal of an individual from memories of others, reality itself is essentially rewritten to accommodate the removal of said individual. If you recall, the White Whale has the power essentially to erase individuals from memory and reality should they die within its Mist. The issue mainly has to do with the White Whale or rather his unique power. One part has been bugging us, however, and I wish to know if this is an oversight or if it's intentional? As such loose plot holes are not something I expect in Re:Zero. They are located in a wonderfully scenic area and is considered a favorite among holiday travelers who want to benefit from the healing powers of the waters. So recently in light of season 2 soon approaching us me and some friends decided to rewatch the first season of Re:Zero (along with another friend who has never seen it). They have been used since Etruscan and Roman times thanks to the healing properties of its waters. The Baths of San Filippo are not a modern creation. The springs form natural pools that allow you to swim in any season, most especially in winter. The White Whale is considered the most famous limestone monument of the Baths of San Filippo with warm waters that flow from the surrounding area and water temperatures of about 118☏. Its sulphurous waters are rich in carbonate and descend into the valley forming white limestone deposits that create some of the most spectacular formations. It is located at an altitude of 500 meters just along the River Fosso Bianco. This wonderful spa town is considered among the most beautiful springs in all of Italy, located in the province of Siena near Mount Amiata. These limestone formations create a waterfall, commonly called La Balena Bianca, the White Whale due to its strong resemblance to the mouth of a whale. Located in Tuscany, in the splendid area of Baths of San Filippo, lie thermal baths right in the heart of the beautiful Val d'Orcia.
